Terms & Conditions
The terms on which we quote, supply and deliver products to trade and retail customers.
Last updated: 1 August 2026
General Terms
These terms govern all quotations, orders and sales concluded with Wholesale Steel & Hardware. Placing an order confirms your acceptance of them.
Where a signed credit application or supply agreement exists, that agreement applies in addition to these terms.
Ordering Process
Orders may be placed online, by email or by telephone. An order is only confirmed once we have issued a proforma invoice or order confirmation.
Stock is not reserved until payment or an approved account order is received. Cut-to-length and fabricated items are made to the dimensions stated on your confirmation, so please check them carefully.
Pricing And Payment
Prices are quoted in South African Rand and include VAT unless expressly stated otherwise. Steel and wire pricing moves with mill and raw-material costs, so quotations are valid for 7 days.
Payment is due before dispatch unless a credit account has been approved, in which case terms are 30 days from statement. Interest may be charged on overdue balances.
Delivery Terms
Delivery lead times are estimates based on stock and route schedules and are not guaranteed. Risk passes to you on delivery or collection.
Please inspect goods on arrival and note any shortage or visible damage on the delivery note. Delivery charges depend on mass, volume and destination and are shown on your invoice.
Returns And Refunds
Returns must be logged through our refunds portal within 7 days of delivery. Unused stock in original condition may be returned within 14 days and a 10% handling fee may apply.
Cut, fabricated and special-order items are not returnable unless defective. Approved refunds are paid to the original payment method within 7 business days of goods being received and inspected.
Warranty
Products are warranted against manufacturing defects. Where a defect is confirmed, we will repair, replace or refund the product at our election.
Goods manufactured by third parties carry the relevant manufacturer's warranty. Warranties exclude corrosion or failure caused by incorrect installation, unsuitable application, alteration or lack of maintenance.
Limitation Of Liability
Our liability is limited to the invoice value of the affected goods. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, downtime or site standing time.
Technical guidance is offered in good faith; responsibility for design, engineering sign-off and installation compliance remains with the customer.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the parties consent to the jurisdiction of the Magistrate's Court.
